Micodermabrasion or Exfoliation?

Hey i was told that microdermabrasion and exfoliation are to different things. But isnt Microdermabrasion the same exfoliation? they both exfoliate?Micodermabrasion or Exfoliation?
Yes, both exfoliate the skin, but microdermabrasion is a much more intense and deeper exfoliation.

A professinal microdermabrasion done in a spa, doctors' office, or medical spas concentrates on the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin). This partially or completely removes dead skin by light abrasion. Different methods include mechanical abrasion from jets of zinc oxide or aluminum oxide crystals, fine organic particles, or a roughened surface. Particles are removed off through the wand/handpiece through which the abrasive particles are suctioned.

Microdermabrasion can improve sun-damaged skin and remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. The procedure is not very painful and requires no anaesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars.

General exfoiliation with a scrub will remove dead skin cells, dirt, and residue but not to the extent that microdermabrasion does.
